How can we democratize decision making and make public space more inclusive?

Thoughts for the Municipality of Eindhoven

Monday 1st March 2021 - 15:30 CET

On Monday 1st March 2021, Nick van Apeldoorn from BUAS (PPS partner located in Breda, The Netherlands) led a webinar for civil servants from the Municipality of Eindhoven.
Students at the Breda University of Applied Sciences Students (BUAS) work in Eindhoven with primary school children to come up with games to make their school areas safer, more playful, and inclusive. During this lecture, Nick van Apeldoorn exhibited projects from the Public Play Space Best Practices Catalogue in order to contribute to their research and offered the theoretical background to uplift their concepts.
The key question in the seminar was: How can we democratize decision making and make public space more inclusive?

“Reinventing the wheel does not lead to stronger concepts, building up on best practices does.” Nick van Apeldoorn, BUAS
